Online slots featuring the image of Whitney Houston have launched in specific markets where online gambling is permitted. 

Thirteen years have passed since Houston's unexpected passing at only 48 years old. “The Voice,” as she was lovingly called, still captivates and enthralls fans on casino floors throughout the United States. 

In October 2023, IGT (International Game Technology) reached an agreement with the Estate of Whitney E. Houston and Primary Wave Music, which holds the music publishing rights to her catalog, to create slot machines featuring the icon's likeness. 

Whitney Houston Slots launched in person at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in San Manuel, California, last June. The wide-area progressives (WAPs) have been implemented across numerous casino floors, ranging from the Las Vegas Strip to Atlantic City and international markets. 

IGT has now launched Whitney Houston Slots online. The gaming company based in London informs Casino.org that it has just introduced the slots game inspired by the six-time Grammy-winning superstar across eight iGaming markets. 

White Houston Online Slots 

In the United States, iGaming, which includes online casinos featuring slot machines and table games, is permitted in just seven states. In Europe, the majority of countries allow this form of internet gambling. 

IGT has added Whitney Houston Slots to its iGaming offerings in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Greece, Sweden, and Romania.

"IGT’s Whitney Houston Slots is a dynamic, strong-performing game that has proven to captivate slot players and music fans alike in many casinos,” said Gil Rotem, IGT PlayDigital president. “Launching the Whitney Houston Slots game in an online format extends the reach of this phenomenal theme.”

IGT stated that it aims to launch Whitney Houston Slots in North America's iGaming markets “later this year.” 

The seven US jurisdictions for iGaming are Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and West Virginia. It’s unlikely that any other state will become part of those seven in the near future. 

Slot machines continue to be the central element of the US gaming industry. Last year, slot machines made up nearly $31.1 billion of the $49.8 billion generated by commercial casinos in gross gaming revenue. iGaming GGR reached a record $8.4 billion, primarily driven by online slots. 

YouTuber Vegas Matt, boasting over one million subscribers, claims that slots continue to appeal as they offer gamblers a chance for significant winnings. 

“Every time you push the button, you have a chance to win a massive reward,” Vegas Matt said in a recent video. 

Heritage Slots 

IGT's Whitney Houston Slots features four jackpot tiers with legendary images, clips, and songs of the artist. The game features numerous chart-topping hits from her, such as “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “How Will I Know,” and “Greatest Love of All.” 

IGT and its rivals have historically employed the name, image, and likeness of celebrities for branding and marketing their slot machines. Additional celebrities who have appeared in slot games are Britney Spears, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Snoop Dogg, Ellen DeGeneres, Hulk Hogan, and Paris Hilton. 

Numerous others have drawn upon the images of deceased stars. Several prominent games, in addition to Whitney Houston, featuring faces on slot reels include Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis.
